This running script Chinese calligraphy records The Commonwealth of Harmony (大同篇) from the Confucian classic Book of Rites (礼记). The original text is believed to have been compiled by the ancient sage Confucius (551-479 BC). During the first century BC the text was extensively reworked by Dai De and his cousin Dai Sheng. Below is the translation:
While the perfect order called the Great Dao prevails, the world is like a commonwealth shared by all. Virtuous and worthy people are elected to public office while capable people hold posts and contributing employment in the society. About Yufeng Wang
I am a Chinese brush painting artist and college professor in Dayton, Ohio. As a teenager, my love of traditional Chinese paintings was inspired by the renowned artists Sun Qifeng and Fan Zeng in Tianjin, China. I studied Chinese brush painting with the noted artist Mr. Afu Hong from Fujian Province in China. My artwork desires to reflect and create a sense of peace and harmony in nature and humanity. Through Chinese brush painting and calligraphy, I try to convey the inner spirits and outer beauty of our surroundings.
