Description
This original Chinese brush painting transmits love, grace, and purity. Lotus flowers are favorite subject of poetry and scholarly paintings in China. One of the most famous poems on lotus was written by the renowned philosopher Zhou Dun Yi in 1071: I love only the lotus for it rises from the mud but is not stained, bathed by clear waves but is not seductive. Inside, it is open; outside, it is straight. It neither crawls nor forks. The farther away one is the purer is the fragrance. Upright and elegant, it establishes itself cleanly. It can be viewed from afar but cannot be toyed with.
Existed for thousands of years, Chinese brush painting uses naturally made ink and color on silk and paper. Calligraphy, poetry, and artist self-made stamp are integral part this traditional form of artistic expression.
